Our Classes & Developmental Milestones

At Noddy Nursery School Alberton, we nurture children at every stage of early growth with play-based learning, creativity, and loving guidance. Each class is designed to help little ones thrive in language, cognitive, motor, and social-emotional development.

Zebra Class (3 – 13 months)

Our baby class focuses on sensory exploration, tummy time, music, and gentle stimulation. Infants develop early communication through sounds and gestures, strengthen gross motor skills as they roll, sit, crawl, and begin to walk, and form secure bonds that foster trust and emotional security.

Giraffe Class (1 – 2 years)

Toddlers in this stage begin saying first words, walking confidently, and exploring their independence. Activities encourage problem-solving, creative play, and early social interaction such as sharing and parallel play. Fine motor skills grow through stacking, scribbling, and simple puzzles.

Rhino Class (2 – 3 years)

Children expand their vocabulary, form simple sentences, and enjoy imaginative role play. Early numeracy skills are introduced through counting, shapes, and colours. Fine motor skills are refined with drawing, playdough, and threading, while outdoor play builds gross motor strength. Socially, toddlers practice sharing, turn-taking, and expressing emotions positively.

Buffalo Class (4 – 5 years)

Preschoolers are introduced to early literacy and numeracy foundations, such as phonics, number recognition, and storytelling. They strengthen memory, problem-solving, and creativity through structured play and projects. Teamwork, empathy, and responsibility are developed in group activities, building confidence before their final year.

Lion Class (5 – 6 years)

In their final year, children focus on Grade R readiness. They refine pencil grip, letter and number formation, and early reading. Gross and fine motor skills are strengthened for classroom success. Social-emotional learning supports independence, resilience, and confidence, ensuring children are fully prepared for primary school.
